Ways to Get Involved
Volunteers
Volunteers are truly the backbone of our organization. In order to minimize overhead costs and ensure that all donations directly support active conservation efforts, KBRT maintains only two full time staff members. As a result, volunteer assistance is vital to KBRT's success. If you would like to participate in tree planting days, habitat surveys, or assist at information sessions and tours, please contact us at info@kbrt.org or by phone at (541) 273-2189
Rancher / Landowner Participation
Participation in KBRT programs by local landowners and ranchers is essential to the success of our program. KBRT believes that landowners are the true stewards of the Klamath Basin’s vast water, land, and wildlife resources, and that protection of these resources is most effective when accomplished through community efforts. Participation in all KBRT programs is voluntary, and the management plans developed for the participating properties are designed with the input and support of each individual landowner.
If you are a rancher or landowner in the Upper Klamath Basin and would like more information on how you can participate in KBRT programs, please contact us at info@kbrt.org or by phone at (541) 273-2189
Educational Opportunities
KBRT is committed to providing educational opportunities to support the wider Oregon community. KBRT can provide tours, field trips, and “hands on” educational experiences tailored to the interests of school groups (K-12) and other organizations.
Public outreach is an important part of all KBRT work. If you are interested in touring our projects, just let us know. We are also always willing to participate in community events, speak at meetings, or do anything we can to provide information or introduce the KBRT mission to others.
KBRT also works in conjunction with colleges and universities to provide research opportunities for both undergraduate and graduate students. This support includes grants for housing and living stipends to support summer research activities each year. KBRT can also help design projects to meet course and credit requirements. If you would like more information about research opportunities for the upcoming year, please contact us. (see below)
For more information about educational opportunities through KBRT, please contact us at info@kbrt.org or by phone at (541) 273-2189
Make a Contribution
Individual contributions are essential to the success of KBRT, and to the improvement of the Klamath Basin's resources. If you would like to make a tax deductible contribution to support KBRT, please contact us at info@kbrt.org or by phone at (541) 273-2189.
Your contribution can even be earmarked for specific activities! Just let us know which projects you're interested in supporting.
